How to Prepare for Your Engagement Session
Photoshoot Checklist:
Take a deep breath, tell each other how thankful you are to be together, & don’t rush! Do what you need to show up to our session feeling relaxed & in the moment.
Arrive 15 minutes earlier than our planned meeting time. This allows you to settle in once you arrive & relieves some stress that comes with rushing to get there on time.
Try on your outfits before our session to make sure you feel happy & comfortable in them. Bring a few backup options just in case!
Include an activity that you two love to do. This not only tells your story but also relieves some nerves by focusing on something you love.
Remind yourselves that almost everyone feels nervous or awkward when getting their photo taken! Just keep moving & focusing on each other!
Tell each other one more time how thankful you are to do this life with them!! Your love is a big deal & I’m so excited to capture it :)
Text me if you need anything!
I’m always so excited to hear from you. Let me know if you have any questions, wanna fill me in on something cute you’re planning, or just wanna say hi.
Day of, I usually arrive 15-30 minutes before our session so I have time to settle in, scope things out, and get my camera ready. We are going to have so much fun & I can’t wait to see you. 💛
Everything is planned…what now?
If you have already picked a location, date, & outfits for your session, we are now in the in-between-anticipation time. You are probably feeling excited, thinking about what to wear, and might be feeling a little nervous.
I don’t expect you to have everything perfectly planned or know what to do. That’s my job! All I need from you is to show up and be yourself. Taking photos can feel like a lot of pressure, especially when you aren’t sure what to expect, so I want to make sure you feel prepared to have the BEST time during our portrait session.
Below is a photoshoot checklist of things to do ahead of time & items to bring that will help you feel prepared. I also included my checklist of items that help me feel prepared & ready to take your photos!
